Fatherhood FIRE is offered for free by the UAMS Office of Community Health & Research. They help you be the best dad you can be by providing education and resources that prepare you for the challenges of raising a family, and by creating a support network for men and fathers in the community.

Center for Effective Parenting

The Center for Effective Parenting (CEP) attempts to positively impact children through a focus on improving parenting skills. The Center is a collaborative project of the Jones Center for Families in Springdale, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), and Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH). Dr. Nicholas Long, Professor of Pediatrics at UAMS and ACH, is the Center’s director.

National Fatherhood Resources

National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse

The National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse is an Office of Family Assistance (OFA) funded national resource for fathers, practitioners, programs/Federal grantees, states, and the public at-large who are serving or interested in supporting strong fathers and families.

National Center for Fathering

Founded in 1994, National Fatherhood Initiative® is the nation's leading provider of research on father presence and father involvement, research and evidence-based fatherhood programs and resources, staff training, and father-engagement planning services for human service organizations and practitioners.

National Compadres Network

The mission of the National Compadres Network is to strengthen and re-root the capacity of individuals, families, and communities to honor, rebalance, and redevelop the authentic identity, values, traditions, and indigenous practices of Chicano, Latino, Native, Raza, and other communities of color as the path to the honoring of all their relations and lifelong well-being.

Native American Fatherhood & Family Association

Native American Fatherhood & Families Association (NAFFA) began in 2002 with the mission of bringing men back to strengthening their families. Since then, NAFFA has successfully impacted thousands of lives and families.

RISE Magazine

Founded in 2005 and led by parents impacted by the child welfare system, Rise believes that parents have the answers for their families and communities. Their mission is to support parents’ leadership to dismantle the current family policing system by eliminating cycles of harm, surveillance and punishment and creating communities that invest in families and offer collective care, healing and support.

Incarcerated Fathers Library

The National Resource Center on Children and Families of the Incarcerated offers the Incarcerated Fathers Library (downloadable resources for dads and those working with them).

Watch D.O.G.S.

WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is the father involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering that organizes fathers and father figures in order to provide positive male role models for students and to enhance school security.
